The Association of Eco-Industrial Parks of Ukraine is a coordinating organization aimed at sustainable development of the country’s industry in compliance with the main European environmental principles
Mission of the association
The main mission is to increase the industrial potential of Ukraine to support and enhance the economic and sustainable development of the country, while ensuring the rational use of natural resources, minimizing industrial pollution and waste reduction, conserving natural resources and optimizing energy consumption
The Association is noted for its comprehensive approach to coordinating activities, protecting interests and promoting eco-industrial parks in Ukraine and abroad, creating a unified voice for the industry and helping to attract investment and expand opportunities for its members.
The Association promotes the integration of sustainable development principles into Ukraine’s industrial policy, helps companies implement innovative technologies and effective environmental solutions to improve their efficiency and global competitiveness, and brings together industrial companies, research institutions, government and public organizations to develop environmentally responsible business.
In this context, the Association is actively promoting the concept of circular economy and eco-industrial parks, developed in the framework of international cooperation with the UN Industrial Development Project “Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program in Ukraine: Local Implementation”.
Goals of the association
Supporting economic growth
We strive to create a favorable environment for the development of enterprises, attracting investment and increasing the industrial and economic potential of Ukraine
Conservation of natural resources (environmental responsibility and sustainable development)
We believe that environmental responsibility is the rational use of resources that can help preserve the environment, reduce the negative impact of industry on nature and contribute to sustainable development
Implementation of the circular economy
We are committed to greening the economy by adopting a green course to transform Ukraine into a climate-neutral country through the efficient use of resources, the introduction of green technologies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the negative impact on the environment, including within the framework of ongoing UN industrial development initiatives related to eco-industrial parks
Optimization of energy consumption and development of renewable energy sources
We promote the implementation of energy-efficient solutions and reduction of energy consumption in industry, the use of solar, wind and other types of alternative energy in industrial parks
A community for ecological harmony. Building environmental culture and social responsibility
We unite businesses, government and the public to work together to achieve harmony between the welfare of the population, the environment and the economic prosperity of the country
Objectives of the association
Education and professional development
Organizing trainings, seminars and conferences for local authorities, management companies and participants of eco-industrial parks, conducting information campaigns on innovative technologies and environmental standards, promoting the integration of best international practices, in particular those disseminated through the UN Project “Global Eco-Industrial Parks Program in Ukraine: Local Implementation”
Attracting investments and international partnerships
Facilitating the attraction of financing for the development of environmental projects and establishing cooperation with international organizations that support sustainable industrial development
Environmental monitoring and analytics
Installing an automated monitoring system to continuously analyze the environmental impact of enterprises within the industrial parks, identify potential polluters and prevent further environmental pollution
Promoting the introduction of environmental technologies
Developing and implementing support programs and initiatives (startups) that promote the circular economy and resource recycling
Legislative initiatives and advocacy
Active participation in the development of policies and regulations on environmental regulation of industry, as well as interaction with government agencies to stimulate and implement environmental reforms
Formation of environmental culture
Supporting initiatives to create “green” jobs in industrial parks, disseminating environmental knowledge among various segments of the population to raise environmental awareness
